JOB TITLE                                                   :           STAFFNURSE - LPN

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION                           :           PROMOTES AND RESTORES RESIDENTSPHYSICAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL HEALTH by providing practical nursing caredetermined by the needs of the resident and their plan of care.

 

REPORTS TO                                             :           Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  & EXPERIENCE                                        :           Graduation from an approved school ofPractical Nursing and current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania asa Licensed Practical Nurse.

 

Demonstratescompetency in the administration of medications and treatments, including bothknowledge and skills in these areas.

 

Demonstratesability to recognize, promote and respect the individuality and abilities ofeach resident and to maintain the standards of the philosophy ofcare.

 

Demonstratesability to work as a team member within the Health Services Department, withother personnel, as well as with residents, their families and friends.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS                             :           Stands, walks most of the shift.  Must be able to push, pull, lift, andtransfer residents weighing 50 to 250 pounds. Able to wear gloves and other protective equipment.  Capable of clearly communicating withresidents, and no more than minor correctable deficiencies in sight andhearing.
