Under the direction of the
Director of Surgical Services, and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical
Technologist works intra operatively in the preparation and handling of
supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgeon environment
for the patients. The Surgical
Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient
take responsibility for personal action.
Education: High
school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate from a formal surgical tech training program or 1 year of
acute hospital surgical technician experience required.
— Certification from National Association of Surgical Technologist required Experience:
— One year
experience in a main operating room within the last two years preferred — Basic knowledge of scrub
role — Handling of instruments, set
up, anticipates surgeons needs — Knowledge of autoclaves — Transporting patients Must be dependable, adaptable to change and have good organizational
skills. Must be able to keep all
information confidential. License and Certification:
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
CPR certification required.
Certification is preferred. |
